What is Arthrosamid® and How Does it Work?

Arthrosamid® is an innovative, permanent polyacrylamide hydrogel implant administered via a single intra-articular injection into the knee cavity.

While it is delivered as an injection that integrates into the synovial tissue of the joint capsule. Once injected, the non-degradable hydrogel acts as a durable internal cushion. It thickens the synovial fluid, significantly reducing friction, inflammation, and stiffness.

To date, over 30,000 patients globally have received Arthrosamid® to successfully manage the debilitating symptoms of knee osteoarthritis.

Expected Timeline for Pain Relief

Initial Relief

Patients typically begin to experience a noticeable reduction in pain between 1 to 3 months post-procedure.

Optimal Benefit

The full clinical benefits and maximum joint cushioning emerge by 6 months.

Long-Term Efficacy

Clinical studies and long-term data demonstrate that pain relief is sustained for 5+ years.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

Arthrosamid® is an excellent alternative for patients who have exhausted traditional conservative management (such as physiotherapy and painkillers) and are seeking a long-term solution to delay or avoid knee replacement surgery.

While patients with almost any degree of knee osteoarthritis can achieve a favourable outcome, specific anatomical and clinical features respond better than others.

Because this is a permanent implant, your individual suitability, joint health, and medical history will be thoroughly evaluated during an initial consultation with Dr Bordbar to ensure it is the safest, most effective pathway for you.
