Relief from a steroid injection typically starts within one week, whereas hyaluronic acid (DUROLANE) can take two to four weeks before you notice any benefits. However, because CINGAL has a dual-action formula, the steroid component works quickly to provide early relief, while the hyaluronic acid supports your joint later on. As a general rule, steroid injections provide pain relief for around 3 months, and sometimes up to 6 months. Hyaluronic acid typically offers 6 months of relief, though some people experience benefits for up to 12 months.
